My name is Carla Scheidt and I have been a member of St. Andrews for 10 years. I was born in Nicaragua and moved to Miami, Fl when I was 9 yrs. old. I lived in Miami for 20 yrs. I am the oldest of 5 siblings that were born and raised Catholic. I attended Catholic School from Kindergarten to 12th grade then went on to get my degrees in Special Education. When I was 29 I moved to the Bahamas, where I was fortunate enough to be part of a program that spearheaded special education services at St. Francis de Sales school on Abaco Island. While there, I met my husband; a teacher from Milton, WA. We were married during our time in the Bahamas. After our 2 yr. stay there, we taught on a tall ship that travelled to various ports around the world. After this we decided to settle down and start our family here. We have been blessed with 3 lovely daughters (5, 7, & 9). I was a stay-at-home mom for 7 yrs., during which time I was involved with Moms group at St. Andrews. My husband and I are now Kindergarten teachers in the Faith Formation program. We love our St. Andrews community and are happy to serve in the capacity God is calling us.
