For those times in life when filling their table will warm their hearts. After a birth, surgery, or illness, time for meals all but disappears! When a friend is in need, everyone says, "What can I do to help out?" The Helping Hands Ministry is here to help you… help out!
Helping Hands – New Ministry!
We are looking for people who are willing to prepare and deliver a meal for a parish family when a need arises. If you are interested in being a part of the Helping Hands Ministry, just email or call me and I will add you to our group! Then, when a family needs meals, Ministry members will be notified and given the opportunity to choose a day that works for them!
How it works!
Once I hear of a family that is in need of support from our parish in the form of meals, I will call that person and ask them what days work for them. I will also get basic info like how many adults/kids, likes & dislikes for food, allergies, etc. Then, I will compile all of that info and create a meal schedule on www.takethemameal.com (link below). From there, I will email our entire group a link to the meal schedule and you can sign up for a day that works for you! If that particular meal schedule doesn't fit your schedule you don't have to do a thing! Just wait for the next one and hope you can bless a family with a meal the next time. No pressure! We need as many people to sign up as possible so that we are always able to serve those that need us. Tell your friends to sign up!
Please support our new ministry by emailing email@example.com, or by calling Theresa Stallman at 509-991-8563. As soon as we have enough people in our group we can start helping families! I would love to hear from you.
Below is a link to the website we are using for the scheduling. There is a lot of great information on what meals travel and freeze nicely. There are also great ideas like adding a little vase of flowers and a candle to go with your meal! Or, perhaps you don't have time (or possibly don't cook!), you could prepay for a pizza meal to be delivered! :) So, click on the link below and browse all of the great ideas!
Thank you,Theresa Stallman
